I have lost count of how many people I have spoken to who have said they are never going to Australia, and ALL give the same reason… “Too many spiders”.

“Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?”

Have you ever had one of those moments where your feeling completely unmotivated, but something so random occurs and the inspiration just doesn’t stop flowing?

Since posting the picture of the damselfly, in my photo of the month, I have realised that I had missed a huge opportunity while I lived in Australia.

Without a doubt my favourite weather to experience or just view is a thunderstorm, it is also my favourite thing to photograph is lightning.

Have you ever had a moment in your life that you look back on and can clearly state that the decision you made at that time changed your life?

Reflections have always been one of my favourite things to capture, but rarely one that I thought too deeply about. Often it has been a case of see a reflection, capture a reflection.

So, this is where my bias will clearly stand out, but growing up in the tropical north of Australia is a very different experience from where I live now in the UK, particularly in relation to the weather.

Without a doubt, my favourite season not only to photograph but also to enjoy is the wet season. “Wait, where does the Wet Season fit in with Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring?”

So, we have already discussed what sparked my passion for photography in the blog titled ‘What a Croc’ but as much as this was a starting point. Growing up in Darwin, we had so much access to unbelievably stunning surroundings.

I have recently undertaken a new project titled ‘On the Beach’ where I am exploring different ways to capture beach scenes and things that can be found on beaches. I have used some of these images on my socials and in the blog title “I walked right past it.” Capturing images on the beach seemed like a good idea in October and November when the weather was fine but since then

So, after some encouragement and suggestions from a lecturer. I decided to take a look at running a market store. If I am honest, I don’t know why I didn’t come to this conclusion myself, perhaps a bit of the old imposter syndrome.

It’s a safe bet to say that we all live busy lives, and often we can fall into the trap of taking for granted the things we see every day.
